Recapping from our Christmas concert before the holidays, on December 20th the Performing Arts Department presented their 6th annual Holiday Spectacular. The concert included familiar hoilday favorites like Winter Wonderland, Sleigh Ride, numerous carols, classics such as Greensleeves, In the Bleak Midwinter and an Audience sing-a-long. The newly formed Choir and Chamber Choir performed as well. This year the concert band was accompanied by Bronson-Norris Murphy, returning to Bardstown after his performance as Stephen Foster in 54th season of the Stephen Foster Story, as he sang the classic White Christmas. Bronson was joined by Aundrey Ligon and Heather Heim as they sang "Christmas on Broadway" a medley of holiday showtunes. For the second year in a row the concert concluded with Mr. Eric Gilpin, principal of Nelson County High School reading "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" with the Concert Band accompanying.

Congratulations to senior Bret H.! Second Chair Trumpet in the District Symphonic Band and moving on to second cut all state! Any band member as a junior or senior can audition for the District Symphonic Band and to make the cut is an extreme accomplishment. Any junior or senior student from not only our county but the counties surrounding us can audition. Only so many get into the program and we are lucky to have Bret be selected.
